The admisson for the concert amounts to 8 Euro per person. Especially in high season an earlier reservation is absolutely necessary. Persons, who are very fond of Klezmer Music, should come to Cracow at the end of Juin, when the Jewish Festival take place in the Jewish District Kazmierz - belonging to the most famous Cracow festivals.

What is Klezmer Music?

Klezmer has its origin in the music of Eastern Europe Jews and literally means "pot of the song". Klezmer Music was already performed by Jewish troubadours (klezmorim) at events like weddings as well as joyful feasts at the end of the middle age. The Klezmer Music - mostly sung in Yiddish - can be called the language of the world soul, which on the one hand expresses great joy and on the other hand deep dolour. It was transferred from generation to generation in an oral way and only later written down.

Jewish Specialties, Jewish Cuisine

It is possible to combine the Klezmer Concert with a dinner. The earlier mentioned restaurants offer typical Jewish Cuisine, but not kosher products except of wodka. To the most famous dishes belong: Berdyczowska Soup (beef, vegetables, honey, cinnamon), Jewish Dupling (filled with cheese, onions, potatoes, garlic dressing), turkey (filled with almonds and raisins sauce), duck. As desert Pascha Cheese Cake can be recommended.
